National Horse Exhibition (Nov. 2022)

* DISCLOSURE * These images are from the Agriculture History Museum exhibit in Hungary. I did not write the text nor create any of the artwork in the images. I just documented the exhibit. I’m sharing the information relevant to the Hungarian horse film project and specifically the Kisber-felver breed. (Credit for the exhibit is at the end of this post.)

A Little Hungarian history first…

A VISIT TO THE AGRICULTURE MUSEUM

On our first full day in Budapest, we made our way to the Agriculture History museum, which happened to be housed in a castle. Lucky us! Upon our arrival we encountered a sign that explained a movie (a historical reenactment of the Conquest) was being filmed on location and the entrance to the Hungarian horse exhibit (we needed) was on the other side. Before we went our merry way, I had to see what the movie was about and joked with the guard that we thought perhaps the filming had something to do with Harry Potter (because of the castle bit). He smiled.

Once we entered the museum, we headed straight for the HORSE – NATIONAL HORSE EXHIBITION upstairs. I was relieved to find that most of the information was both in Hungarian and English which allowed for me to absorb as much as I could; of course still taking pictures of everything. Anything relevant to my project was fair game, therefore, it was difficult to not document the entire exhibit.
